Newsletter 15 Autumn 09

We wish everyone a happy Christmas and peaceful new year

We send special thanks and very good wishes to Mrs Williams who is retiring after many years here at St Matthew's as a Teaching Assistant and school governor.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

Thank you to everyone who has helped to make the Christmas celebrations so enjoyable for the children and adults too! It is a good reflection of our school community that so many parents, staff and governors work together, bringing different talents and skills, to provide the best for the children. This week's activities have included Christmas Lunch, carol singing, Christmas parties and a pantomime!

In particular, thank you to all who contributed to this morning's service, including the nativity play, at St Matthew's Church. It was encouraging that so many parents and friends of our school were able to join with children and staff at this special time.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be upon his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.

Isaiah chapter 9 verses 6 and 7
